"No. It's not that. Our robes are not dry. I hung them out in the backyard to let the sun do the work."

He couldn't tell him, he kept washing the blood off, again and again with his own hands when the machines at the laundromat don't work, being careful not to tear off the only robes they have. Eventually, he gave up and just leave it to hang dry in the backyard.

"We'll fit in. I think those clothes look fine." They're much cleaner also. "It just takes a while to get used to, especially with no sleeves to worry about or get them caught. The clothes...felt lighter somehow."

"It's definitely lighter. I'll we bearing one layer instead of three." And no arms bands or belts on top of all of that. He's going to feel like he's going out in just his under layers.

He changes clothes easily, tugging on the pants that are definitely more fitted then he is used to wearing. They aren't uncomfortable, but definitely strange. He finally holds out his hands. "How do I look?"

Lan Wangji waits and observes him getting dress, and assist him with the dressing if necessary. He looks at him, only smiles cheerfuly with a soft chuckle. Once he's done dressing.

"Wei Ying, you are very handsome. Look in the mirror and see for yourself the way I see you."

"I don't think anyone sees me the way you do, Lan Zhan." His hair is a mess from having just woken up. He reaches up to undo the ribbon since it will have to be brushed. His hair falls around his face in a messy wave.

"But I do know I'm handsome." He grins, knowing he looks fine even with the disheveled hair. He's always been one to pretend he's more arrogant then he actually is.

Lan Wangji only laughs and smiles when his long black hair cascades down his shoulders and the ribbon unravels. It's the same face and...pretty much everything that he's been in love with for all of these years.

"You are handsome, Wei Ying. To me, you are. Let me brush your hair."

Picking up a brush from the table, he went over to comb his hair to straighten it out.

He winds the ribbon around his hand absently as Lan Wangji brushes his hair. "You're the handsome one, Hanguang-jun." He's smiling as he watches the reflection in the mirror of the both of them.

With the strokes of the brush, sorting out the tangles of his long hair, and straighten it out until it becomes smoother.

"Your ribbon, give me." Taking the ribbon from him, he ties up his hair neatly into a ponytail as they stood in front of the mirror. "There. You look much better. What do you think?"

"Looks good." Looks strange but not terrible. It will take some getting used to this whole new look. "Now that I'm cleaned up, what's next?"

With the new look, they might fit right in with the crowd. It does indeed look strange, lacking the elegance to fit in their society back home.

"We go down and eat lunch, and then check out the town."

Opening the door, he leads Wei Wuxian to go down the stairs to the kitchen where lunch is already prepared with plates of rice, meat, and vegetables on the dining table.

Wei Wuxian slides into his chair and looks at the meal. He smiles softly as he realizes just how much Lan Wangji is spoiling him. It might just seem like clothes and food but he can tell the other is taking care of him the best he can.

"Looks good." It's a fairly normal meal for them but Wei Wuxian never gets tired of eating lan Wangji's cooking.

Back home, he was always busy with his hands full with his responsibilities as a sect leader and foreseeing the progress of the juniors and their education. All of that was left behind, so he needs to work to keep himself busy and distracted by doing errands and keeping things so neat and orderly.

"Mn. Enjoy." He eats quietly. If he shows any signs of his alpha behavior, he channels the energy quietly by keeping his territory and his omega orderly.

Keeping his omega orderly is it's own full time job. Wei Wuxian digs into the food, enjoying it in silence for once. He'll make it almost halfway through his lunch before he speaks. "So where are we going to go first?"

He can't keep him orderly as a full-time job. Income was an issue as this world does run on money.

"I received money from helping out at the town's library." And doing odd jobs, which is easy as all he has to do is ask and help out. "So if you don't have your drink yet, it will be on me. We can go to a bar and then see a 'movie' together, which is like a theatre and stories with pictures."

"Mm..someone was telling me about those. Apparently there are some that have zombies but they are different from the dead we are used to." Wei Wuxian knows he needs to find a job. He doesn't think it will be too hard. He has several qualities that should be fairly useful depending on the job he finds.

"A movie about fierce corpses?" Somehow, Lan Wangji preferred to see something else, but if that's what he wanted. "All right. We'll see what is offered."

With lunch over, finished the rest of the chores, and the noon passing. Lan Wangji is serious about taking him to the bar.

"Let's go."

"I don't if they are showing anything else but that is what the guy was talking about when he was discussing the moving pictures."

He stood up and stretched. "Okay, lead the way."

Lan Wangji holds one of his hands as he leads him outside. For a small town, it seems all right during the day. He knew Wei Ying needs his drinks every now and then, so he shows him the bar in the town.

"This is the only bar in town. The other one is at nightclub." Opening the door, it seems like an ordinary bar with its high chairs, bar counter, and patrons in their booths.

"I won't drink anything." And Lan Wangji orders a soda for himself as he finds a seat.

"Night club?" Wei Wuxian quirks an eyebrow at that. Something open at night..while Lan Wangji is sleeping and he is bored perhaps? He doesn't really know the term but he is interested now. Wei Wuxian is definitely a night owl.

He sits down and smiles at the bartender, telling him to surprise him with his best drink.

The bartender serves what seems to look like a glass of wine while Lan Wangji has a glass of soda.

"Mn. People go there to dance very late nights. Perhaps, for once, I'll go with you pass my curfew." No, he won't be sleeping. For once, he's up for the challenge to stay up late night and be a night owl with him.

"You'd never make it Lan Zhan. that body of yours is too well trained." He is sure of it. He doesn't even know what time it was when they finally passed out in the cave but he's pretty sure Lan wangji's internal clock had still worked perfectly.

After some thought, “Maybe not today, but another time.” As tonight they’re going to the movies. “But you’re right. Still I would like to go with you and dance with you when I am able”

Lan Wangji wants to prove he’s not so strict on the rules. He haven’t scolded him or reminds him, as he has broken many rules himself already by being with him.

He smiles rather amused by that, "You want to dance with me? Have you ever danced before, Lan Zhan?"

Not that Wei Wuxian has any experience with dancing either but it's just a little hard to imagine Lan Wangji dancing the night away.

He drinks from his cup, almost shyly. "No. Never. I play music, but never dance."

With a soft expression, "But yes. I want to dance with you. I always wanted too." He doesn't mind if he lacks experience. He just wants to be with him and dance with him.

"So I'm willing to bet if I can stay up late at night with you, then you let me dance with you."

"If you manage to stay awake, me dancing the night away with you will be your prize. It's agreed."

It's an amusing bet but if Lan wangji manages to stay awake past that ridiculously early bedtime then it will be one habit that Wei Wuxian will be happy to help him break.

At that, his eyes lighten up. Usually, he holds such a stoic expression, but with the way he lights up, he is very happy. But then the things Wei Wuxian said, having waited for 16 years, always longing and wishing to hear him say it, and coming from him.

"Really? Will that be my prize? A dance with you." He genuinely smiles, and from his heart, a hushed tone. "I would love too. It's a bet."
