"..." Lan Wangji turns pinks across his cheek and to the tip of his ears. While it seems he held that stony expression, he is actually fiddling with a piece of silk thread between his fingers. Because Wei Ying is wearing his gold ring on his finger, isn't he?

"Does Wei Ying accept it...?"

"Would I be wearing it if I didn't?" Of course he accepts it. If this is supposed to make up for the proposal that was made while he was falling asleep them at least it is a step in the right direction. He had barely even realized they were engaged after that until it was thrown at him while in court. At least now it seems he can say it with certainty.

Part of Wangji can't believe it. For decades he has waited for this moment that he holds as a wish and dream in his heart. His stoic expression facade melted to a warmer expression. Both in wonder and puzzlement as his heart is beating and fluttering fast, he silently hold his breath still.

He steps closer to him and holds both of his hands, fingers lacing, and looks at him in the eyes. "Does that mean Wei Ying will marry me?"

He smiles as he locks his fingers with Lan Wangji, the proposal becoming official in that moment.

"Yes Lan Zhan. I will marry you. Nothing would make me happier." Just being able to be with Lan Wangji is enough for him, but to be his in mind, body and soul and officially in front of the heavens fills him with a warmth. He didn't know he even desired such a thing until right then.

He looks up at him with all the love he feels in his heart showing in his expression.

"Yes. You said yes." Even though he doesn't express it well, a rare smile forms. He feels so happy that his heart is beating so fast, bursting and unraveling with all the happiness.

While this isn't ideal, and he wishes this was done back home, this will do for the time being as his dream of marrying him and be his husband is becoming. Slowly, he slides his arms around his waist to pull him close and press his body, holding close, and murmured on his shoulder and place a kiss on the hollow of his throat.

"Mn, I love you Wei Ying. I love you very much."

"I love you too, Lan Zhan." He wraps his arms around him and lays his head against Lan Wangji's shoulder. He enjoys being able to make the man happy and although he feels like a failure at that a lot of the time, he also knows that his love can make up for some of his faults.

He sighs contently and closes his eyes as he simply enjoys the embrace of his soon to be husband.

Eventually, he relaxes his hold on him. Everything in his body is sore where his bones were broken from before and still in the middle healing, that he hobbles around the house. However, Wei Ying's love for him is the best healing magic, so Wei Ying has never been a failure in his eyes.

"I'm going to relax and stay home." He won't admit he isn't able to work at the library and quite frankly, he didn't care to.

"Have you tried the Emperor's smiles from the jar? Is it any good?"

"Of course it is good. It tastes just like home." Because of course he had to take a taste of it before coming downstairs as if to make sure it was actually what it claimed to be. And it certainly didn't disappoint. With everything around them becoming more like home it is almost lulling him into a dangerous kind of feeling of security. He needs to remember that the world outside is still strange and unpredictable.

Then he is glad because Wei Ying seems so pleased and happy with his gift. "Then I'll have some before taking a light nap later in the afternoon."

But then he realized Wei Ying just woke up and came down just to see him. "Wei Ying, do you want some breakfast? I won't be able to stand on my legs for long, but I can make omelettes, sausages, and toast for you if you want." Easy breakfast food to make.

"Don't worry about it Lan Zhan. I can get something myself. I'm not that hungry yet anyway. Unless you want something?" Trusting Wei Wuxian in the kitchen would not be a wise choice unless Lan wangji really thought his stomach was strong enough for whatever it is that he manages to cook.

But Wei Wuxian also knows he can handle getting himself a snack of some sort to tide him over. And he can always go and get them food from some place so that Lan Wangji doesn't have to cook.

Wei Ying is so clever and helpful, even when Lan Wangji is recovering from his injuries.

For once, he's not going to stop him, and let Wei Ying tries. "I just wanted buttered toast. You can put bread into the toaster and spread butter over it." But there's plenty of restaurants in the town that Wei Ying can get it himself as they offered take-outs. "If Wei Ying knows how to cook scrambled eggs he can try."

"I'm not sure you should trust me with eggs but we will see what happens." He turns and heads into the kitchen to let the experiment begin. Since he knows he can handle toast, he decides to try and figure out the eggs.

He really has no clue how to make scrambled eggs but he is smart enough to work it out. He starts to do what he thinks they are supposed to be like and soon the smell of cooked eggs is filling the kitchen.

Lan Wangji is curious as he watches Wei Ying tries to fry an egg over the pan. It's cute when he tries, and he simply watches his effort.

Lan Wangji looks at what he does. "Did you add milk and butter to the eggs?" Because while it's cooked eggs, if he doesn't add an ingredient, because it might as well be plain fried eggs.

"Don't overcook it or you burn it. Once done, just flip it over to the plate."

He did remember milk but butter..definitely not. He wonders if it is too late and then decides it's never too late and goes ahead and adds it. He stirs it up a little and tries to make sure he at least doesn't burn it. He studies it for a second and then finally moves it to the plate.

He doesn't know if it is edible but it certainly doesn't look otherwise.

"Finished...?" Once Wei Ying flipped the eggs to the plate, Lan Wangji looks at it and picks up a fork.

He waits for a few moments since it looks too hot to eat. Then gingerly he picks at it with fork, lifts, and eats it for a taste test.

"..." There's a few moments of silence, and then. "It's good. Can you make more?"

He folds his arms in front of his chest and seems pleased by the fact he was able to make eggs. "More? You that hungry, Lan Zhan?"

Is he able to get lucky a second time? Hard to say..but at least now he knows exactly what he needs to put into the pan.

He ate it all, so it must be very good if he likes it. "Mn. Very hungry and want a second. Did you make toast yet?"

It's a start in his culinary skills.

"Ah..I forgot the toast." He walks over and starts another set of eggs and this time does actually put the bread in the toaster so that he can start that as well.

He even starts to make a few extra eggs for himself. Since Lan Wangji seems to see them as edible he might as well try them himself as well.

Lan Wangji smiles, a rare one, which is now becoming more often, and he clearly enjoys seeing Wei Ying learning to make breakfast.

"Scramble eggs. It needs butter and milk in the pan. I never know of this before. Back home, we tend to eat them boiled, fried, or sunny-side up."

He's going to keep his eye on the bread in the toaster, as bread gets easily burned if the dial is set at the high level.

When the toast pops up he takes it and butters it then brings it over to Lan Wangji while the eggs continue to cook. He then returns to keep an eye on the eggs.

"Don't get used to this Lan Zhan." He smiles as he knows the other is taking great pleasure in the fact he is doing the cooking.

And when the eggs finish he puts them on two plates and bring them over to the table so they can both eat.

"Not even everyday...?" He teases, but he is kidding. For today, he'll surrender and joins Wei Ying at the table for the simple pleasure of eating and sharing a meal with him, enjoying scrambled eggs and buttered toasts that he made.

"I'm not awake early enough usually to make breakfast everyday." He tries the eggs and realizes that they are actually edible. So at least he is able to make one thing. Of course he didn't add any of the spicy toppings he normally would that would typically make things unbearable for others.

Edible and actually good considering he didn't go as far as adding spicy chillis and experiment with out-of-place ingredients. Lan Wangji gives it serious thought.

Teasing him again, "What if...I want it for afternoon and night, would you make it then?"

"I think you would get sick of eggs if you had them afternoon and night." Since that is all he is capable of making at the moment.

"I'd rather just go get you food instead and save a little bit of time and potentially wasted groceries."

"Never as long Wei Ying makes it like this." But he smiles regardless. "Take-out food is fine." Considering, the town has been peaceful as of late. As for the monsters roaming late at night, it's nothing his flute can handle.

Scramble eggs and buttered toast, and Lan Wangji pours juice to go with it. But what fills him up more is the love he has for his husband-to-be. So, he figured this is a good time to discuss since marriage and weddings tend to be always a big deal back home. Especially he himself is the head cultivator and sect leader.

"For our wedding? When you do want to be married? I learned next month, the mid-Autumn festival will fall on the first day."
