[Sometime later in the evening, a small brown package will arrive in his mailbox. It is written in neat handwriting, in the language of this country. Obviously someone has taken great pains to write out the address in ink. There's a stamp with a brown hare on it. Wei Wuxian (魏无羡) is written out for the mailman to read, but then next to his name is the neat calligraphy of which it is clearly Lan Zhan's handwriting.

When he opens the parcel, all wrapped up in bubble plastic, inside it's a brand new toy rattle drum. There's only a small note attached with his signature: "I hope this present is to your liking"]

[Sends a message after receiving the gift, rather confused by it. wondering if perhaps he meant to save it to give to Shizui should he arrive there.]

What's with the drum, Lan Zhan?

[He was hoping a childhood toy given will be a treasure to him]

It's a present, a gift. For you to keep. I thought you'll be pleased and be amused by it.

[He smiles.]

Is there a particular reason for giving me a toy? Do you think I'm getting bored in my apartment?

[He pretended to be stoic in the vdeo, but he's really pink to the tip of his ears]

I went to my swear-in at the museum in Nonah and I think I saw a vision of the past. I'm not quite sure if it truly happened because I don't remember it. But when I was young, I went on a trip with my mother back when she was alive. We were walking through a village and it was snowing everywhere.

I saw a child in the alleyway, playing with straw dolls. He is very scrawny and lonely. I gave him a toy drum because I wanted him to have it to keep his mind off the cold.

The child has bright eyes and smiles, just like yours. So, for that reason, I just want you to have it.

Ahh...well thank you Lan Zhan. I don't remember much about being a kid so I can't really tell you if the memory is real or not. But I'll take good care of it.

[He won't ask what he is like as a kid. It won't change what he sees in him. Since nothing has changed. For now, he accepted his gift and that he's pleased with it.]
