[The version he cooks for his family and himself is very mild and vegetarian. For Wei Ying, he made it with hearty chicken and makes it extra spicy just for him. He tasted it himself to be sure. He places the rice and curry in two separate plastic tupperware as containers.
With the address given, he went to the city where Wei Ying lives. The porter is instantaneous travel. He sends a text to alert Wei Ying that he has his dinner ready, and pushes his doorbell to his apartment.
As the bell is ringing, he waits downstairs on the front porch]
[He hops off the couch and heads to the door, knowing that it has to be Lan wangji since he is the only one how and not too many people dare visit this area of town.
He pulls the door open with a grin and signals the man to come inside.]
Finaly, Lan Zhan! I'm starving.
[He appreciates the gesture of him bringing it all the way there.]
"Of course, Lan Zhan. I know how to function on my own." This place is a hundred times more comfortable then the Burial Mounds and if he could make it so that a small clan of people could survive there, then he could handle a little living on his own. Besides he isn't entirely alone. There are roommates that help him with things he doesn't understand.
He leads the way into the house and towards the eating area. It isn't fancy and the apartment is clearly a lower type income housing then Lan Wangji is probably ever used to living in, but it is still comfortable.
His expression remains fixed, but he does look at him quizzically. The apartment does look adequate and well-kept. The dining area is small, comparison to where he live, it's quite bigger to fit the needs of one big family.
"We need plates." He opens the Tupperware, and the heavy aroma spices of the curry fills the kitchen.
He goes to the cabinets and pulls out plates for each of them, setting them on the table. "What would you like to drink, Lan Zhan?"
He doesn't have a lot of options but depending on what the man requests he might be able to accommodate it. The smell of the curry fills the room and makes his stomach rumble. To say he has been eating well would be a lie. This will be his first real home made meal in awhile.
For some reason, he finds humor in his question. "Water." He answered simply. "You can try from the tap. That's what people in this country get their water from."
Taking a seat. It has been a long while since he last shared a meal with him. "Eat slowly. I try not to make it too heavy. It is flavorful." Once the food is laid on the plates, at the first taste, Wei Ying will find an explosion of spicy, both bold and hearty.
Water he can handle. He fills a glass and places it in front of Lan Wangji. He decides to stick with water himself just because it is easier. He settles at the table and starts to eat.
"Mm! It's good!" Just the right amount of spice and flavor.
He inwardly sighs in relief, even though he pretended to limit his expressions.
"Mn. I'm glad." He eats quietly, not complaining about the level of spice, but he must admit, it's really too spicy for his taste and it burns, but Wei Ying's smile sweeten it, so he'll try to bear it.
"You don't have to keep eating it, Lan Zhan." Wei Wuxian is perceptive and he knows the other man's eating habits well enough by this point to realize that spicy foods are not his forte.
"I've learned you don't like spicy things." Not surprising given the Lan diet.
There's a bit of a cough as he drinks the water to wash it down. "It's fine. I ate it all." All gone from his plate. "It takes some time to get used to it."
The burn is going to linger for a while. "More water...?" He has an empty glass.
He shakes his head, not sure why the man chose to endure it. But he does stand up and fetch him another glass of water. Bringing it back quickly so the man doesn't collapse from spice overload.
"You should have just made yourself some thing more mild rather then enduring pain." Food is supposed to be enjoyed.
"Ah..the city life around here is a little more to the scandalous side of things. I don't think you'd be interested in any of it. As far as stuff to do in the house, there isn't much. I don't generally stay here that much."
He spends most of his time out in one of the various towns.
"I haven't really tried any of it but there is a lot of underground gambling places and brothel styles clubs. It's a pretty wild city." He likes bars but he's not much for going to the other kinds of activities that seem to run rampant in this area.
With mild disapproval as he sat, feeling full and relaxed. "Wei Ying, you stay out of those places and out of trouble." He said. "You'll make me worried if you go to these places. I know we are registered heroes and we have a duty to protect civilians."
He gives him a look of determination, "So if you are in trouble, let me know. I'll come to help you."
"Don't worry, Lan Zhan. I'm not going to go around to all of those places. I'm not interested in it." His brother had warned him to be careful of this city as well. Apparently worrying over him is a Lan's duty. As for being in trouble, nothing in this place as seemed so dangerous that he would need assistance.
True, but to him, it sounds like he might go to those places out of curiosity. "Yes, but sometimes I think...even if you go, you might want to help someone as a hero. I've been told crime is common in the cities no matter where you live."
Lan Zhan is just being protective. "If you're going to travel around, then let me go with you. From what I last remember before I arrived here, I wanted to follow you. You said so yourself. The world is big and full of stars...and this world has a lot of stars."
"That's fine, Lan Zhan. You can go with me whenever you want to. But besides work and sometimes the store, I haven't really been to many places." He works at night so he sleeps through most of the day. He doesn't mind if Lan Wangji wants to be with him, but their schedules are going to clash quite a bit.

I will come over. Tell me where you live, so I could meet up with you.
Do you like curry spicy or extra spicy?

"Mn." Politely by his invitation, he enters the front porch and follows him to his apartment door.
"I worry about you. Do you eat well and slept well?"

"Thank you." He drinks some more, looking at him. "I can endure it. Because you enjoy it. I cooked it. So that means, you like it?"
